H. James Free, MD
Dr. James Free was a member of the first graduating class of the University of Florida’s College of Medicine’s in 1960. He and his wife’s dedication to the College of Medicine, specifically Primary Care, inspired their donation toward the construction of the College of Medicine’s education building to be named after the founding Dean Dr. George T. Harrell. Recognizing the couple’s commitment to primary care the H. James Free, MD, Center for Primary Care Education and Innovation was established. The center is dedicated to the Free’s passion and will focus on encouraging students to pursue primary care as a profession, improve medical outcomes for the undeserved population and support the College of Medicines devotion to its highest standards of education and graduating professionals that are best-in-class providing exceptional patient care.
